We Are Coaches was founded in 1996 by Peg Windisch and the board of directors, whose mission is to bring quality programs and loving care to families in San Diego and North County. Programs are are intended to foster learning and healthy connections in a fun playful environment. As executive director, Peg Windisch, has been working with parents and kids for over 20 years. Peg Windisch Biography
Peg Windisch is a teacher, author, public speaker, and Family Relationship Mentor. Her mission is to bring programs and loving care to families that fosters learning and connecting in a fun, enriching environment. With a degree in Chemistry from Minnesota and a Parent Education Certification from California, she has happily pursued the following professional endeavors.
In 1996, Peg founded We Are Coaches, Inc. As the Executive Director, Windisch, the Board of Directors, and teacher alliance bring various kids and adult programs to communities of North County.
Camps: For ten years Peg has been a founder/director of the Aqua-Adventures Beach & Surf Camp, a summer camp that teaches beach & surf skills while promoting character-building & environmental awareness. In 2010, 135 families participated at camps at 15th St. in Del Mar and Moonlight Beach.
After-School Enrichment Programs and Break Camps: For twelve years, Peg has been running after-school programs through elementary schools in Del Mar, Cardiff, Encinitas, and Carlsbad. Curriculum includes art programs such as Beading/Jewelry-Making, Drawing, and Painting. Other programs include Friendship classes, and Eti-Kids Etiquette, and general athletic skills including yoga, tennis, and other ball games. Her latest venture, Kids M-Power, empowers kids to fundraise for other kids by creating marketable art.
Private Swim Instructor: Peg, WSI certified, has been conducting private swim classes for over thirteen years and has taught over 300 children to swim.
Preschool & Little Learners: In 2009, Peg helped launch and work part-time at Bridges Preschool in Carlsbad. Peg taught the Little Learners Preschool Program through the Encinitas Community Center for two years.
Mom & Mua: For eight years, Peg taught Mommy & Me programs. The hosting locations include Santa Fe Montessori, Central Montessori, and Horizon Christian Fellowship in North County, Rancho Santa Fe Community Center, The Ranch Group in San Diego, and Michaels Stores.
Parenting Classes & Family Relationship Mentor: Peg, INCAF PE Certified, is the founder of the Raising Respectful Children Program, a program for parents and children. In the past sixteen years she has personally taught over 1400 parents the extended parenting courses including Redirecting Children’s Behavior. Her vision is that all family members learn skills, knowledge, and consciousness regarding family cooperation, respect, and team-building. Author on Parenting: In 2005, Peg began authoring an innovative parenting resource in partnership with KidCite, Inc. This resource covers “Practical Consequences for Kids’ Behavior” will be come to market in 2011.
