Kids M-Power

Kids M-Power

Marketing. Mentoring. Meaningful Action.

Kids M-Power is a program designed to empower elementary age through high school age kids to collaborate with local artists and use their talents to create art, market the art, and donate the funds to  kids’ causes that inspire them.  Teens and young adults can get volunteer time and obtain community service hours for their efforts. We are currently forming new teams that can meet consistently to choose their own art projects, marketing venues, and kids’ causes.

Kids M-Power Artist workshops are held every third Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 pm

at the Center for a Healthy Lifestyle in Solana Beach, 533 Lomas Santa Fe Dr. 92075

Workshop fees are $5 per participant to cover material costs.

Center for a Healthy Lifestyle is a newly remodeled cottage at 533 Lomas Santa Fe Dr.  The cottage is a rental facility used to host programs for adults and children- programs with a healthy theme. Says Rachel Rays’ YUM-O website: “Since opening in April 2009, The Boys & Girls Clubs Center for a Healthy Lifestyle has become a community hub for learning about food, fitness, nutrition, (and art). The Center features a quarter-acre organic garden for which educates families about growing their own vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers, as well as a state-of-the-art kitchen with all cooking amenities where children cook healthy meals after learning about the fruits and vegetables in the garden. The Center offers a variety of programs, including cooking classes for kids, where they cook healthy snacks and meals to sample as a class and then take home more to share with friends and family members!

There are also a variety of cooking classes for adults & children, art classes, and gardening classes  www.CenterForaHealthyLifestyle.com
